With over 30 years of combined experience, Kristen and Melissa have worked with children and their families across a variety of settings providing mental health counseling, coaching and consulting services.
As a doctoral-level school social worker and a certified positive discipline parent trainer, Kristen has encountered the multifaceted impact a family’s social and emotional functioning can have on their discipline approach as well as the impact it has on a child’s behavioral needs.
As a school psychologist and board certified behavior analyst, Melissa is familiar with the impact that a child’s social emotional functioning can have on the behaviors they display within the classroom and at home.
However, the most important role both Kristen and Melissa have in life is that of being a parent. As parents they can understand the daily struggles we all face within our homes and within our family unit. They can relate to our attempts to juggle the day to day struggles life can throw at you while also trying to maintain a peaceful home environment. As a result, they are eager to share some tried and true strategies that can be helpful both in homes, at school. and at work. Kristen and Melissa create a judgment free environment where clients can share their experiences and seek support while learning new strategies to add to their toolbox.

Following training as a school psychologist, Melissa went on to pursue a Post-Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Jenesse Ramos is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker currently working as a Bilingual Elementary School Social Worker. Throughout her experience in the field of Social Work, Mrs. Ramos has provided individual and/or group counseling for children, adults, families and couples for over a decade.
Mrs. Ramos was born in NYC to her Dominican mother and Cuban father. She is a proud graduate of SUNY New Paltz and the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College where she obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work. This is where she discovered her true purpose. Mrs. Ramos has always embodied a deep love for helping others, even at a very young age despite many unexpected curveballs life threw her way. As a Dominican-Cuban child growing up in a single family home she often acted as a translator for her mother in order to help her navigate the system that she now helps the families she works with to navigate today. It has been extremely rewarding for her to watch it all come full circle.
Another important role Mrs. Ramos has is that of a mother to her three beautiful children (aged 6, 8, and 11).
Motherhood has helped her grow both personally and professionally. She truly understands the challenges that parents face on a daily basis and loves nothing more than helping families navigate the path to success together.
In the clinical field, Mrs. Ramos has extensive experience working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, sexual abuse, relationship difficulties and grief through utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Psychotherapy. Mrs. Ramos provides coaching services for parents, teens and young adults.

Mental health counseling focuses on addressing emotional and psychological issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems. Counselors help clients understand and manage their feelings, behaviors, and thought patterns. Counseling looks at both the past and present to understand the root causes of issues. Counselors use therapeutic methods to help clients process emotions and develop coping strategies.
Both coaching and consulting services play valuable roles in personal development and mental health, but they serve distinct purposes and are suited to different types of needs.
The first step is to accessing our mental health counseling, coaching and consulting services would be to schedule a free discovery session with no obligation.
